First, it was “quiet luxury.” Quiet luxury took over social media and envisioned the elegant effortlessness of Loro Piano and Sofia Richie. Then, it was ‘coastal grandmother’. Think Martha Stewart or Ina Garten. The overall aesthetic is relaxed, while still embracing classic wardrobe staples.

For the new year, Pinterest announced their new trends and predictions for a variety of categories. As shown in the fashion section of Pinterest Predicts, the newest trend is ” grandpa core” or the “eclectic grandpa trend.”

The look is meant to encapsulate the personal style of our grandfathers. Who would have thought our grandfathers are now a fashion trend?

Think of your grandfather’s closet. Sweater vests, slouchy, oversized sweaters and cardigans make up the majority of the wardrobe. Comfy footwear such as chunky sneakers and leather loafers are the majority of the footwear.

Basically, if you can picture your grandfather wearing an item, it’s a perfect addition to your grandpa-style wardrobe. The style accentuates a loose and baggy fit. The perfect style for those looking for an overall comfy aesthetic.

The trend has made its way to TikTok and Instagram with millions searching how to look like a grandpa and achieve the trendy grandpa aesthetic.

Scroll below to find inspo to style the grandpa core trend in an approachable manner.
