Every summer my feed is filled with people vacationing in Greece. The delicious food, gorgeous blue backgrounds and enticing waters makes it such an alluring place to visit.
With all the things to do and visit, packing for Greece can be overwhelming.
The majority of people who visit Greece skip mainland Greece, and head to the picturesque islands. The Greek islands are rich in history, and are very tourist friendly. However, the rocky landscape presents its challenges.
With that said, the Greek islands require a lot of walking. Ditch the high heels for comfy sandals or sneakers.
In general, the Greek isles are a relaxed place, but there are trendier destinations such as Santorini, that you would want to bring a fancier look.
Greece Vacation Outfits
First things first – you want to pack light. Light and airy clothes, such as maxi dresses, linen shirt and linen pants accompanied by comfortable walking shoes, preferably sandals, are going to be at the top of the list for your Greece outfits.
Top off with a sun hat and sunglasses for maximum sun protection during those peak summer months.
Opt for lightweight fabrics, such as cotton and linen, as Greece is known for their very hot summers during those peak tourist months. Also, avoid very bright colors.
In general, Greek clothing is muted and neutral. Your Greece packing list should revolve around lots of white and neutrals.

Dresses
The weather in Greece is sunny and very hot during the peak tourist months.
A simple white dress is the first thing that comes to mind to pack for the Greek islands. Flowy, white dresses are the perfect dress for the backdrop of beautiful white-washed buildings.
A cut-out dress is a way to show some skin stylishly. Be it an exposed side or open back, cut-out dresses have been around for the past few summers, and are a stylish option for the warm weather.
Be sure to finish off with a wide-brimmed hat to reduce the sun exposure while out walking on the cobblestone streets of the Greek islands.
Wearing light-colored hues in the summer is a no-brainer – however, light dresses also look great in black.
Lean into breathable black clothes- think linen dresses that are floaty and lightweight.
Bring a light cardigan along to visit cultural sites and churches, since there is a very strict clothing policy to visit these religious sites.
Calling all print-lovers : the blue and white toile pattern screams out Greece. Kick it up a notch with a deep saturated shade of blue to match the cerulean seas of Greece.
Finish off with flat, stylish sandals to explore ancient ruins or the floral lined streets of Mykonos.
Bathing Suit
Heading out on a boat trip? Greece has the longest coastline in Europe, and thousands of islands to explore.
With rugged coastlines, hidden coves, and pristine beaches, the Greek islands offer a unique perspective that can only be experienced at sea.
Be sure to pack essentials in a beach bag for a trip of a lifetime sailing the pristine seas.
There are plenty of elegant and unfussy swim silhouettes that don’t feel basic, especially when you are looking for vacation swimwear.
Apart from a clean aesthetic, a simple bikini makes a solid foundation for any vacation outfit—and can be mixed in with those not-so-minimalist pieces such as beach cover-ups or crochet pants.
Top + Trousers
The effortless, languid trousers are an essential part of the vacation outfit. The wide leg pant is perfect to combat the humid conditions, while looking elegant for dinner on the Greek isles.
Neutral colors, whether it be cream or white, can be mixed and matched with many summer essentials, such as tank tops, t-shirts or button down shirts.
The easiest and most European way to wear white trousers is to stick with a neutral color palette to create a streamlined look.
It looks elegant every single time and allows for whatever accessories you wear to pop.
Top + Pants
When it comes to easy dressing, nothing beats those easy-to-throw-on matching sets for women.
Lightweight separates can easily be mixed and matched to create a look that’s a sartorial success without any mental exertion. Finish off with comfortable sandals to hit up the beach or archaeological sites.
Summer style will always be defined by nautical striped clothing. Whether it be a light sweater or striped pants, the classic pattern is an instant sartorial success.
Pair the sophisticated pattern with billowy satin pants or linen pants for a lightweight look for the warmer months on the isles.
Maxi Dress + Heels
Looking for Santorini outfits for a night out on the island? For a night at one of the cozy wine bars or vibrant restaurants, a one-shoulder dress in a jeweled color will certainly fill that bill.
The one color that reigns supreme now more than ever: green dresses.
Complement the bright dress with bold accessories. Finish the look with statement earrings, and wide-fit heels to dance the night away.
Top + Shorts
You can’t deny the ease of a pair of denim cut-offs in the summer, especially on vacation. Denim shorts are extremely versatile – whether you are having a casual lunch or a boat trip.
Distressed cut-offs feel just right, slipped on with a bikini top for a day at the beach.
When short shorts are not for you, the longer shorts silhouette is perfect.
They’re roomy and so much more comfy than cut-off jean shorts. Add a light top to celebrate the warmer weather and finish off with a raffia bag.
Crisp, quality linen always looks and, crucially, feels cool, so consider it an essential part of your Greece outfit ideas.
A pair of linen shorts looks good with just about any top. Keep it casual with a cute top or elevate the look with a button-down linen shirt.
Top + Skirt
What makes this a maxi white skirt an all-around winner, is its ability to give off an effortlessly chic aura while still maintaining its intrinsic sophistication.
It is the perfect balance of chic summer style and romanticism. It is the perfect way to achieve that Eurosummer vibe.
A comfortable pair of flat sandals is the best way to finish off this summer look.
